Received his PhD in systems engineering from the “Politehnica” University of Timisoara, Romania with the thesis titled “Voltage Control and Optimization of Energy Consumption in a Microgrid”. He spent 8 months at Technical University of Denmark Roskilde, Denmark as a PhD internship and continued his academic career with a Postdoc at “Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya” Terrassa, Spain. Afterwards he continued his activity in some of the largest companies in Spain: Abengoa, Acciona and Telefonica. He has 5 years of industrial experience in developing control algorithms for energy related topics ranging from power plant grid connection, energy markets, distribution grid renewable resources integration, energy storage optimization. He also has 2 years’ experience in developing industrial controls and SCADA systems in water treatment sector. Besides systems modelling and control systems design, his technical expertise includes Big Data and Machine Learning which he used in various in-house industrial projects.
